HOURS
The Heffalump session runs from 9:00 a.m.
to 2:00 p.m., Mondays through
Fridays. The program runs from the starting date in September (usually the
first Tuesday after Labor Day) through the second or third Thursday in
June, coincidental with the Palo Alto
Unified School District
calendar. Heffalump follows the Palo Alto
Unified School District
calendar with regard to school holidays and vacation.
SCHEDULING
Minimum enrollment is three sessions per week, with a possible exception of
up to two months at two sessions per week for newly enrolled younger
children with no previous school experience. Children may also be enrolled
for four or five sessions per week. A part-time schedule may be arranged to
include any days of the week until full enrollment has closed any
particular day.
DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP TIMES
Drop off time is 9:00 to 9:15 a.m.
In order to ensure punctuality for our program, children may not arrive
after 9:30 a.m. unless prior
arrangements have been made.
Please make sure that your child has a nutritious lunch packed, has extra
clothes, and is dressed appropriately for the weather. You must sign your
child in. Feel free to stay while your child settles in (you are welcome to
visit whenever you wish), and make sure to call if your child is going to
be late or absent.
Pick up time is 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.
Late fees are charged for tardiness at pick-up time, which can be very
distressing for a child and inconvenient for the staff. The late fee is
$3.00 each five minutes for pick-ups after 2:00
p.m. Please call ahead if you know you’ll be late. Late fees
may be waived for reasonable cause.
