After
an initial assessment is made as to our program’s suitability, prospective
parents and children may arrange a visit to the school. We encourage you to
visit as often as you like, feeling that more frequent and varied
observations will afford a greater understanding of what our program has to
offer.
During a visit, the director will conduct an enrollment interview to
determine if the child meets our admission criteria, and whether Heffalump
can meet the needs of the parents and child.
When admission is confirmed, the Security Deposit (in the same amount as
the tuition for the anticipated enrollment schedule) is due and payable to
reserve an enrollment space. If enrollment is immediate, the Security
Deposit is due within the first month of attendance. All forms are required
to be filed before a child’s first day of enrollment, and it is the
responsibility of the parents to keep forms up-to-date with current
information.
If no enrollment space is currently available, or parents are seeking
enrollment for a child at a future date (between six to eighteen months
ahead), the family may be placed on the waiting list for a non-refundable
fee of $25.
SECURITY DEPOSIT
The Security Deposit required is the same amount as one month’s tuition. It
is due either to secure an enrollment space or within one month of initial
enrollment.
The
purpose of the Security Deposit is to maintain a sound financial base for
Heffalump’s operations. It is held in a special account.
When you give thirty days notice of your child’s last month of enrollment,
the deposit may be used to cover the last tuition payment or may be
refunded when tuition is paid. Withdrawal without proper notice will result
in forfeiture of the deposit.
If the Security Deposit has not yet been paid and there is a withdrawal
without proper notice, the tuition for the coming month will also be due
and payable.
Families newly enrolling in the fall are required to pay the anticipated
Deposit to reserve their enrollment space.
TUITION
Tuition
is a set monthly fee that is an average yearly cost. Tuition for the coming
month is due on or before the 25th of the previous month. A late fee of
$2.00/day is automatically charged for payment after the due date. If there
is substantial reason for a later payment, an alternative agreement may be
negotiated prior to the coming month. A child may not attend if
payment is over one month late. Interest on any outstanding balance will be
charged at the rate of at least 7.11% per year.
A fee of $15.00 is charged for returned checks to cover bank costs. If more
than one check has been returned, families may be required to pay in cash.
